The creative possibilities of Metal Clay are so exciting to me - I particularly enjoy working in silver, bronze and 24k keum boo gold. I am drawn to making elements from a mosaic of applied pieces to create texture and pattern: and a love of doodling, Eastern and tribal jewellery also informs my own use of simple design and symbolism.
I have taught for over twenty years and have made teaching and learning a big part of my life. I have a PGCE and a Masters in Education from the University of Warwick specialising in mentoring. I am now a Senior Art Clay Instructor too. Before setting up my jewellery business, I was one of a small group of writers to produce the National Education Programme for London 2012 Olympics. I also wrote the Doodle 4 Google Art Resources for schools and developed many other National Programmes for schools and businesses. I am strongly persuaded by the restorative power of creativity. Moving back to beautiful Dorset provided the vital ingredients to keep the magic flowing: open spaces, extraordinary colour and beauty in nature, the pull of the sea and the ancient places that feel alive with history.
