I am a local artist, living in Shaftesbury since my retirement, and now able to pursue my creative interests in painting and music. I use mainly acrylics (with some mixed media) and paint local scenes and significant events and places in my life. Painting is important to me both emotionally and spiritually. Every artist has an individual style and mine is still developing into a form of semi expressionism with an ethereal element. I love experimenting with textures, bold exaggerated colours and my own unique way of seeing the world we live in. Painting natural subjects has brought me closer to nature and to a better understanding of its balance and the intricacies of our relationship to the natural world.
